Reporting a Claim or Potential Claim
Chatham Insurance Services is an underwriting program manager and is not involved in the adjudication of claims. CIS recommends the reporting of all claims and potential claims, as defined in each policy, immediately upon becoming aware of the claim or potential claim. This manner of claim reporting will help to avoid any late notice issues that may jeopardize any rights an insured may have within their policy.
All claims are handled by a dedicated staff of experienced claims professionals in the Travelers Bond & Specialty Insurance Program Claim Unit located in Hartford, Connecticut. The claim personnel assigned to new claim submissions are committed to handling claims in a timely, professional and fair manner.
Chatham Insurance Services recommends that all agents and brokers report their client's claims to the appropriate company as listed on the Declarations page of the policy. Insureds should report their claims to their Agent or Broker and directly to the insurance company as listed in the Declarations page of their policy. Any claims reported to Chatham Insurance Services will be reported to the appropriate insurance company contacts as listed in the Declarations page of the policies provided through Chatham and as indicated in the Travelers claim page on this website.
After a new claim is reported, an acknowledgement letter will be sent by Travelers providing the name and phone number of the claims professional assigned to the claim.
Claims and potential claims should be reported by you directly or through your agent or broker. Agents and Brokers should report all claims and potential claims to the appropriate insurance carrier(s) with a copy to CIS.
